Behind my 'old school' spectacles...

(...because my eyes are behind my spectacles? I wanna write the title as 'From my view' but since my view is practically from behind my spectacles...hence the nonsense title)

Anyway, I am really a big fan of Monkey D. Luffy.

Yes, you read me right.

If One Piece had fan girls, I believe I would be one of them. Though maybe I would be cheering silently in my heart.

Anyway, the thing that I like most about Luffy is because of his determination in becoming The Pirate King.

"Hi, I'm Luffy and I'm the man who's gonna be The Pirate King" is practically his catchphrase every time he introduced himself to people HE JUST MET.

He's reckless but determined and somehow, looking at him, I'm reminded of my own reckless-ity(if such word exists).

Perhaps by reading some of my posts, you would probably know by now that I am a Muslim revert, since the age of 18, and I have been living independently on my two feet since October 2010 due to certain inevitable circumstances which I would rather not discuss extensively(for fear of flash flood in my eyes & my heart :)  ).

I guess the reason why I like watching it, is because I kind of managed to get some motivation out of it, though he is just a fictional character which is unfortunately voiced by an old lady. Totally ruined my imagination. =_="

But I'm not addicted to it or anything, not to the extent yang bila tak tengok tak boleh tidur malam sampai seminggu mandi tak basah tidur tak kenyang(eh?).

Entertainment is alright but if you delay your prayers or anything just to finish watching a pause-able(again, I am butchering the sacred English language) movie/anime or whatever, then the entertainment is bad for you because it is starting to de-attach you from Allah.

But then again, sometimes I feel 'scared' that I might die while watching One Piece. Dying in the state of doing something that is obviously not profitable for the Hereafter...naudzubillah. >_<

But of course, being amongst the people who receives tarbiyyah, try to refrain from entertainment, because after all, everything that does not help in increasing the imaan or does not benefit us for the Hereafter is deemed as laghw(pronounced as 'lagho'), and being the servant of Allah, we should dismiss such things, if we are truly a believer.

Am still in the process of changing myself. So far, in these 3 years since I embraced Islam, I've stopped

  • listening to hollywood musics(I used to really love Britney),
  • watching Korean dramas
  • watching and listening to 2pm & SNSD
  • watching movies
  • reading mangas
  • playing computer games
  • reading CLEO
  • watching American's Next Top Model
  • and so on.(seryes banyak. Sigh)

Change is really, really hard, especially when it comes to doing things that you love and boy, I reeaaalllllllllyyyyy had a hard time trying to discard my habits, one by one of course.

It's really almost impossible to change completely, but then, as long as we are willing to change for the better, and of course, for the sake of Allah, inshaAllah, it will be eased. As long as you are determined to do so.

May the last word that leaves our lips are our testimony of our faith, 'asyhaduan la illa ha ilallah wa ayshaduanna muhammadarrasulullah' and NOT 'boom shaka laka'(refer Big Bang's Fantastic Baby song).

May we end in husnul khotimah. Ameen.

We have to believe He does."

A revert's thoughts on LGBTQ

First of all, what does LGBTQ stands for?  L = lesbian G = gay B = bisexual T = transgender Q = queer I am pretty sure everyone's familiar with the first 4 sexual orientation but what about the last one? Queers are people who are not sure of their own sexual identity.  So what does it mean to belong to the 5 sexual orientation? Let's just assume I am secretly a lesbian. So how would you react to that?  Do you judge me?  Or do you accept me as I am? I got married with a man and have 2 kids as a result of the marriage, there's nothing wrong with that isn't it? I am doing nothing wrong despite having an against the fitrah inclination towards the same sex.  It will only become wrong if they chose to act on their sexual orientation.  They claim that the sexual orientation is a result of nature and nothing can be done to change it. Like in a transgender's case, they think that "God made a mistake and switched their ge...

My dad's turn

because ALLAH is with me.... Earlier today i was shocked by a text message sent to me from one of my aunt from my dad's side. "Why didn't you tell me that you've become a Muslim? Sampai hati tak bagitau, bukan perkara tak baik pun." This raised a question mark in my head. Who told her? She's a Muslim by the way. Then onwards, after a few exchanging text messages, i finally come to a realization. I have to tell my dad before he found out from someone else. That would be worst. So, i started to type on my cellphone. "Daddy, i've become a Muslim. Ever since i'm at KTT. I am telling you via sms so that you will be clear of why i am doing this and so that you will not hear this from other people who might exaggerate the story. I didn't become a Muslim because i have a boyfriend. Not because i was influenced by my friends. And also not because i wanted to join PAS. But because i have taken interest in Islam ever since i'm at...

Mummy

Finally, after 1 and a half years(maybe more), the truth is out. I confessed to my mum about me being a Muslim. When I first told her, she was upset and angry. She asked me: Who influenced you into being one? Did u have a boyfriend? Who converted you? Did you know that it’s a big sin to convert when you are already baptized?! I was silent all the while she was bombarding me with her questions but Alhamdulillah, I feel calm and unmoved. I didn’t feel guilty at all. So I told her, Mummy, nobody forced me to become one. No, that is not the reason I become a Muslim. Do you notice that I’ve become more closer to you since past one and a half years?  And my mum said yes, you’ve become better but still… Then I said, it is because of Islam that I changed from my old ways. I used to yell at you but since I became a Muslim, I learned how to be better, to appreciate my parents better. And then she said something I expected she would say. No wonder you didn’t pass your ...
