| And We have already sent [messengers] to nations before you, [O Muhammad]; then We seized them with poverty and hardship that perhaps they might humble themselves [to Us]. |

| Then why, when Our punishment came to them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened, and Satan made attractive to them that which they were doing. |
I've always thought that Allah only brought the punishment down to those who deserves it, those whose hearts are already hardened, but coming across this ayah gave me an insight of the extent of Allah's mercy. Sometimes, Allah gave us trials to test us, and for some, Allah gave those hardships to make them realize their position as a servant and that they should repent.
The punishment or trials did not come due to anger or wrath at first, but only when we choose not learn from our mistakes.
And even after all that, Allah keeps on giving us lots of chances to repent, that is as long as we live, but how many actually think about this in great depths?
Indeed Allah is The Most Merciful. SubhanAllah Alhamdulillah Allahuakbar.
It's time for Isha' and the end of weekend for me. Laters.
Salam alaik and peace out.
